The CNC Machinist Immersion Program is designed to simulate a real shop environment for students ages 18 and older who will learn all aspects of a machine shop. The program is available in both day and evening courses and can be completed in as little as 6 months to 1 year. The program includes instruction on layout and benchwork, manual milling, and CNC skills for mills and lathes. Students will get hands-on experience in our state of the art machine shop lab and CNC simulator lab. Following the requirements set by the National Institute for Metalworking Skills Certification Program, students are taught the skills needed to pass the NIMS Machining Level 1 certification. Small class sizes ensure the best possible learning environment for metalworking students. According to Workforce Solutions, the number of jobs for CNC machinists in the Gulf Coast area will grow by 22 percent by 2018.
