ACC offers many resources available to students and the community.
Baseball and Softball – ACC features two athletic teams in Baseball and Softball. The teams compete every spring in NJCAA Region 14.
Career Services – ACC has advisors on staff to assist students and alumni in finding a career. They provide assistance with interview skills, resume writing, job placement, career assessment and more.
Community Events – ACC is home to several events free to the public including the Fall Fitness Fair, Fall Festival, Fourth of July Concert, Alvin ISD Science Fair and more.
Counseling – ACC has a Licensed Professional Counselor on staff to help students who need advisement on issues in and out of the classroom.
Dolphins Lead – The Office of Student Activities sponsors Dolphins Lead which is a year-long program where students learn valuable leadership skills that will help them as they advance in their career and education.
Free Facilities – Some ACC facilities are open for public use including a two-mile track, racquetball courts and workout stations located next to the baseball field.
Gym – The ACC Gym is available to students for free! For a modest fee, the community can obtain a membership to use the gym facilities, which include racquetball courts, a basketball court, training rooms, weight rooms and saunas.
JobLink – The college’s Career Services division maintains a JobLink database that helps students and alumni search job openings among many types of employers in the region. For more information, alvincollege.edu/careerservices.
Learning Lab – For students who need help with their courses, the college has a Learning Lab. Tutoring is available for many subjects including Biology, Chemistry, English, ESL, Geography, Government, History, Math, Physics, Reading and Writing.
Library – The college has a 12,000-volume library that is open to the public.
Open Houses – Many programs and departments host open house events throughout the year to showcase what they have to offer for students.
Performances – There are free concerts performed by the ACC music programs as well as play productions offered by the Drama Department for a modest admission fee.
Radio and TV – The college is home to KACC 89.7 FM. The 5.6-kilowatt station is one of only two community college radio stations in Texas. KACC has aired the Alvin ISD football games for more than 30 years. This fall KACC launched a new smartphone app which streams live broadcasts of the station including classic rock music, live events and local sports. The Communications Department also broadcasts KACC-TV Channel 16, which airs events in the community including Alvin City Council meetings.
